We are a few weeks away from the new Drake album although I am sure that you have already heard every track. I wasn’t a fan of the Canadian child star at first but picked up the So Far Gone mixtape anyways. It turned out to be pretty good. Here are a couple tracks from his new album….

Great for hangovers!

I just started listening to this one. I’m either really early on artists or really late. Cooler than me by Mike Posner…

This past April many Latin American countries are celebrating their 200 years of Independence. Venezuela is one of them. To celebrate the BICENTENARIO (2 centuries) portraits of SIMON BOLIVAR are being painted everywhere. Some with brushes and others with aerosol. This one in particular is spray-painted on.

The portraits are mostly of EL LIBERTADOR Simon Bolivar along with a silhouette of him on his horse, a symbol of freedom for many Latin countries.

The Tucan, a bird that’s abundant in the thick of the Venezuelan amazon is considered to be a national bird. This peace is great.

From Tucacas, Venezuela we head out to Aruuuuuba! Aruba is a Dutch island located just about 15 miles from Falcon, Venezuela. Back in the colinazation days, Venezuelans fled to Aruba to escape the Spaniards, Portugues, and many other invaders that during that era where trying to conquer everything they could. The locals speak English, Spanish, Papiamento (mix of dutch, spanish, english, and God knows what else) and Dutch.

Aruba’s slogan is: ONE HAPPY ISLAND… They are not lying about that!!! Everyone here is actually very happy. The community here is a mixture of everything from Argentinians, Dutch, Americans, Venezuelans, Uruguayans, Mexicans, Dominicans, Colombians. I saw people from everywhere… It was amazing!!!! NO BORDERS HERE!!!

We were preparing to go out scuba diving. The locals love their ocean and nature. They enforce the laws and rules to keep it clean. One of the pier workers said it best: “We don’t own the ocean… The ocean owns us. She was here first.”

NO THIS IS NOT A POST CARD!!!. This is real!!! That’s a sunset on the beach in Aruba.

After spending a day in San Diego we headed up to LA. I am always amazed by the LA traffic. There are 18 lanes, they are all packed, and everyone is going 70 mph.

As soon as we got into the city it started to pour. Californian’s hate the rain. I watched people run for cover and look up at the sky in disgust. I’d love to see what would happen with a foot of snow in SoCal.

We headed over to Melrose and Fairfax because that’s where all of the cool kids hang out. There was a pretty awesome spot called Canter’s Deli that has been there forever. If you are in the area, check this place out.

We checked out the Bape store, Kid Robot, The Hundreds, Johnny Cupcakes, Supreme, Diamond, and RVCA while we were on the block. Each one has it’s own feel, music, and look. You can get an idea of what each is about based on the vibe.

Another part of LA that I love is the graffiti. Although I didn’t see as much as I would have liked too, I did see a bunch along the freeway. It looks like these kids just stand out on the highway not worrying about a thing. Also I noticed that kids will climb up pretty high just to catch a tag.

Oh yeah and did I mention we have free shipping on all orders for a limited time?

The Milwaukee Film Festival starts today. An old friend Frankie Latina will be in the house showing off some of his hard work. We’ve known Frankie for a long time. As a matter of fact I did some of my first graffiti artwork in his grandma’s garage. I’m excited to see something that he has been working so hard on for so long pay some serious dividends. The film was already selected and shown at CineVegas.

The Movie, Modus Operandi, revolves around a washed up CIA agent being forced to hunt down some brief cases for the government. The classic set up for a good old school flick. So last night Moct threw a little bash for Frankie to celebrate his work.

I’ve always been a fan of Moct. It’s a pretty chill set up built out of what looks like an old garage. I love the new school open concept design. Plus, they were previewing the film on the million inch big screens all night which was dope.

Frankie and ADone have been involved in the local movie scene for quite some time. Although they butt heads from time to time (which is like watching an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasum with both of them playing Larry) its always good to catch up with these guys.

So go check out Frankie’s new flick at the Oriental Theatre on Friday, September 25th at 7:15 pm. I hear there are some “grown up” scenes!
