There is the LORO or Parrot. The LORO  is predominant in the Amazon of the country. Also the ORCHID, the national flower. Enjoy the first part of this amazing mural . . At the FM headquarters we work hard but also play hard. Since we´re in Venezuela, we cannot die before seeing the beautiful islands that the Caribbean has to offer us. We got a chance to see the Tucacas Islands located in the Estate of Falcon. Barely touched by the human hand, you have take a small boat to reach any of them. In this flick we took a tour around an island made out of only vegetation. There is no flat land at all. Here a multitude of birds come and do their thing.

This is a great shot from our small boat. Nature at its best!!!

This is one of the islands where you can come and enjoy nature and escape the stress of the city.

Do I need to say more? Lets take care of our Mother Earth.

Venezuela is a huge catholic country. The first week of April is Semana Santa (Holy Week or Easter) so severyone gets usually a 4 day weekend. I took my 4 day weekend to enjoy the beach and  take some videos of the Graffiti scene in Caracas. Writers and highways have a special connection. The bigger, the more exposed, the better. Doing a piece on the freeway is always a great feeling… Well I leave you a short vid of some of the freeways here in Caracas. I will try to get better angles and shots next time. Stay tuned cause there are many more to come!

Last night at about 8:30pm while I was making a salad for dinner I heard three gun shots, then all of the sudden three more. As usual I did not pay any attention to it since in my neighborhood that’s something usual. As I walked into the living room with my delicious salad ready to chow down I heard an ambulance siren… I was like hmmm… Intrigued, I looked over the balcony of my apartment and see lots of people crowded around in the corner. Curious, I went down and I asked what had happened? A middle age man tells me that a guy was eating a shawarma (Arabian taco) on the corner and two guys on a bike roled by and shot him point blank then rode away. It was unfinished business!!!

And to think I had just walked past the shawarma stand just 5 minutes ago…

I have been in Caracas, Venezuela for a year now. I walk the streets of the city even though it’s not recommended due to the ridiculously high amount of violence and crime.  Venezuela is one of the largest Anti-America countries in the world. President Hugo Rafael Chavez rules with an iron fist and one of his favorite tools is PROPAGANDA.  Check out this painting on Avenida Bolivar, one of the busiest Avenues in downtown Caracas,  of US President Barack Obama. The painting portrays him as a robot with the message that he is a puppet of Imperialism. These paintings are everywhere here. Chavez gets up!
